Season 4 Ice Tilt Cup Finals Promises To Be One For The Ages

After many hard fought series, we have finally reached the moment of truth. The Vigilantes and SkubHub are the only 2 teams still standing, and soon there will only be one.

Here is how the bracket looks:

SkubHub started their playoff journey off with a tough test, taking the Pilsner People to Game 5, where they would pull through after going down early in that game. I feel like that series built up a lot of composure and confidence in the locker room, as they took care of #1 ranked CT Puck in a quick 3 games.

Skub has proved that they are one of the most well rounded teams in the league. With veteran, Red Devil in net and two solid rocks on D, in front of him (He Hate Me and M Smith), it makes it difficult for opponents to get any sort of offense going.

Their forward group doesn’t necessarily have one superstar, but all four of Wafllestomper, Kane, Bubbles and Sxx do their job and do it effectively. Adding Bubbles and Sxx from free agency during the season as well as adding Wafflestomper in the off season (from TwC) are big time moves, and GM bhardin should be applauded for it.

Looking at the Vigilantes run to the Cup Final, they showed that they should never be slept on. Defeating their rivals, the Boats in 4 games, the Boats thought this was the season they would finally take down the Vigilantes, but they thought wrong. Moving onto the semis, just like SkubHub, the Viggys showed a great amount of composure and experience. Going down in the series 1-0 then 2-1, they battled back and won 2 must win games. Probably the series of the playoffs so far.

The similarities between these two teams doesn’t stop there as AGMs Maple and Sped made a tough but amazing move for thei team, picking up defenceman, Doty and goaltender, Hen, the Viggys have threats at all six positions. Hen has been hands down, the best goalie in the second half of the season as well as playoffs and Doty has been nothing but solid on D, making it almost impossible to get around him as well as moving the puck up ice very well with new D-partner Maple Keefes. Maple, now the backup goalie, has moved up to play D with Doty, and they have proved to be just as good of a pairing as He Hate Me and M Smith.

GM Fishy also added star forward, Hoskins at the deadline and he quickly became comfortable playing with the shifty duo of Sped and Fish. This forward line is a lot to handle to say the least, as they come at you in waves and put you on your heels throughout the game. Sped and Fish are two of the most experienced players in the league and adding a solid compliment to their wing has propelled them over the top.

It will be very interesting to see the methodical, stingy style of Skub go against the run and gun Vigilantes and everyone in the league is very excited to see how this 7 Game Series turns out. It could go either way, and we’re expecting it to go to Overtime in Game 7.

The Series will be played tonight (10/14) at 9:30EST and stream links will be posted on our social accounts.
