SEASON 12 WEEK 6 POWER RANKINGS

Disclaimer: Last week of the rankings before playoffs, and thanks to everyone who has enjoyed my first attempt at these rankings! Added a fourth team to the ‘Teams to Watch’ section; two teams for Sweat and Core playoffs.

current gen

1. Dynamic 4-0 (21-2-1) – Last Week’s Rank: 1
Another week and another undefeated week for the boys from Dynamic as they prepare for the Playoffs. Third week in a row at the top of the power rankings, hard to find a hotter team and a bigger favourite for their first ITHL Championship. They have a bye in the first round after a near perfect season.

2. Storm 3-1 (19-3-2) – Last Week’s Rank: 2
Another week and another second place ranking for Storm as they continue be a very consistent team as they always are. A strong defensive team that know how to shut down their opponents, the Storm are right up there with Dynamic as co-favourites for this very amateur handicapper.

3. Get North 4-0 (17-6-1) – Last Week’s Rank: 7
A team that looked to be in shambles over the last few weeks, Get North rebounded nicely in their last week with a perfect week to grab one of the top four seeds who earn a first round bye. Get North looks to use the momentum gained from the last week to win a championship in their first ITHL season.

4. Toxic Legends 2-0-2 (15-5-4) – Last Week’s Rank: 4
Never count out these Legends as they are seated right where they need to be going into the playoffs. Seemingly peaking at the right time, the Legends are the only team of the top four that do not have a bye, but they do have a lower seed in Simplified ahead of them in the first round. Can PP get another ring?

5. Sea Dawgs 4-0 (16-7-1) – Last Week’s Rank: 9
Another high end team that has seen more downs than ups over the last couple weeks, rebounded nicely in the final week. Getting their full top guys together for the playoffs will be a welcome sight for Sea Dawgs fans, but not an easy matchup in the first round as they have Insomnia to deal with.

6. Jofa 4-0 (16-6-2) – Last Week’s Rank: 7
The trend continues for this week’s power rankings, as there is another perfect week and this time its for Jofa. An underdog team who has battled their way to the top of the standings, Jofa has been known to have a very good top end squad. Maybe we will see them in the lineup as playoffs kick off.

7. Insomnia 1-2-1 (14-9-1) – Last Week’s Rank: 6
Scoewjaodakszov and his squad have had a bad ending to their season as they started off as the top team this season. Despite falling back in the standings, their roster is full of big names who can take over
any series. The Insomnia and Sea Dawgs series will be a highlight of the first round.

8. Acknowledge Me 1-3 (14-9-1) – Last Week’s Rank: 3
With a full line making their ITHL debuts this week, they did not get off on the right foot with three losses on the week. Acknowledge Me will be apart of another highlight matchup of the first round against Sunnyvale where we will see two stacked rosters go head-to-head.

9. Sunnyvale 3-0-1 (15-7-2) – Last Week’s Rank: NR
Back in the top ten, Sunnyvale is taking a page out of the Toxic Legend playbook with them peaking at the right time heading into playoffs. A midseason slump has not deterred the boys from the Trailer park as they have the momentum against Acknowledge Me with them winning the last series of the season against them.

10. Trap House 2-2 (16-7-1) – Last Week’s Rank: 5
The final team of the Season 13 Power Rankings, Trap House has been hanging around the top teams all season and have a good a shot as any to win the championship. They have a tough side of the bracket with Mutts as their first round opponent and Storm to follow if they can win.

Teams to Watch

Vipers – The favourite in the Sweat Division, the ITHL veterans look to add a championship to their trophy cabinet.

Blue Line Snipers – The all-star hosts, Blue Line has had a good season and should be a strong contender on their side of the Sweat bracket.

Misfits Hockey – The top seed going into the Core playoffs in their first ITHL season, the Misfits are the betting favourites to win this one.

Boats – The OGs wanted a shout out and they get one. Who wouldn’t love to see the Boats win a championship?

old gen

1. Les Senateurs de Toronto 4-0 (20-4) – Last Week’s Rank: 1
The top team all season long and a softer schedule going into the playoffs, one will wonder how rusty these top teams will be. The odds on favourites are Les Senateurs, will we see them run the table the entire season?

2. Doodle Inc 3-1 (18-6) – Last Week’s Rank: 2
The high flying studs from Doodle look to rain on the parade of Les Senateurs as they did during the regular season. Doodle got the job done to finish off their season with Jungle fighting his way through the league, or wanting to at least.

3. Iconic 3-1 (17-7) – Last Week’s Rank: 5
A team that was always on the outside looking in on the top five of the Old Gen side of league but Iconic has come on strong to finish off the season. They have played their way into the conversation to say there is a top six who can win the title.

4. St Lafleur Academie 2-1-1 (15-7-2) – Last Week’s Rank: 4
An up and down last couple weeks for the former top seed as they stayed at the fourth spot, but still not a week up to their standards. Nonetheless, these guys have proven all season long that can compete with the top teams in the league and we expect that to continue in the playoffs.

5. CC Destoryers 3-1 (16-6-2) – Last Week’s Rank: 5
Another one of the top six teams that continues to be consistent with another positive week in the win column. CC has been known to pick up their play a notch in the playoffs when they need to so look for them to take down one of the higher ranked teams.

Teams to Watch

Down East Pirates – One of the top teams that didn’t make the power rankings top five, the Pirates will upset one of the top seeds. You heard it here first.

Keelers – New team looking to make a statement in the playoffs.

Blue Dragons – OG squad who would love to win Dee Skullar a championship.
