The first week of Season 5 of the Ice Tilt Hockey League has passed. There have been some upsets, blowout games and some players have set the tone early for point races. Season 5 features 20 teams total, with 10 teams in the Red Line Conference and 10 in the Blue Line Conference. The Blue Line Conference includes the Aces, Black Knights,  Boats, Dilfs, In-Laws, Mooseheads, Puckhogs, Sailors, TwC and Twine Ticklerz. The Red Line Conference includes the Armada, Blitz, Blue Dragons, Comic Clowns, Les Sec Scies, Northern Knights, Pilsner People, Surge, Steel Maelstrom and Trap House.

Some teams coming out hot were the Twine Ticklerz(5-0-0), Boats(4-1-0), Dilfs(4-1-0), Les Sec Scies(4-0-1), Comic Clowns(4-1-0) and Trap House(4-1-0).  The Twine Ticklerz scoring 36 goals in five games(notable mentions, Twine Hunter 16 goals & Jordan Bain 9 goals). Comic Clowns putting up 40 goals in their first five games, leading all the teams in goals for. Pilsner People getting off to a slow start going (0-5-0), as being a team in this league for the past three seasons we are expecting them to bounce back in Week 2!

Team of the Week goes to the Comic Clowns. The reason for the pick is that they had such a hot start putting up forty goals and only ten against in five games. Only having ten goals against in five games is really hard to do against any team in the league. “We are running most of the same lineup from last season also picking up free agent Spaghetti Pain, so we got experience on these new teams that we played” said Defy Gravity on thoughts of week 1. We asked him also how this momentum will shape into week 2, “yes! This will definitely help going into week 2, facing harder teams. We caught up with the Clowns GM Drizzlee Diggledopp “how does it feel to win team of the week” “It feels great. Last season,we started very hot and we’ve been able start red hot again this season. This start should set the tone for a competitive season moving forward. The objective is to capitalize on our opportunities and use this momentum to get us to the Finals. I think we have always had it in us to win, but we keep getting in our own way. We have a returning core group of players as well as some much needed depth that have way outperformed expectations. This season certainly gives the Clowns a big opportunity to cash in on the ITHL championship” when asked “If they had a chance to win it all this year”

Player of the week goes to Twine Hunter putting up 16 goals, 10 assists in just five games played. Goalie of the week goes to Exquizardous Mitchellham putting up amazing numbers, 7 games played, 15 goals against, 0.821 sv%, 69 saves and 2 shutouts.
