United Forces Look to Secure First ITHL Cup Together.

Both joining in Season 2, the Pilsner People and TwC quickly asserted themselves within the league. Two great teams that have two of the best ‘all around’ lineups in the league showed that they were a threat to win the ITHL Cup every season that they participated in.

In Season 3 Pils ended up taking a season long hiatus to enjoy the summer months as well as to recharge for future seasons. This strategy would seem to work as they came back in Season 4 hungrier than ever.

Facing some commitment issues within their team, they would look to Free Agency to potentially find some fill in players that could plug the missing holes they had in their starting lineup.

     The returning core featured…

Captain, Tebow McFlurry – a swiss army knife. A player that can play whatever position that needs filling. He was voted an All-Star this season due to his stellar play as a back up goalie (recorded a 23 save, 1-0 shutout against Red Conference rival SkubHub, along with a 24 performance in a 6-4 win against the Blue Dragons, with his team only producing 14 shots on net themselves.) as well as his solid presence on the backend.

Rudiger McMuffin III, a solid winger who brings a sense of leadership and structure to the teams play style –  regarded as one of the most all around forwards in the league.

Harley McNugget, an all around great defenceman that might not produce high numbers on the scoresheet, but can surely do his job stopping the other team from scoring.

The Hamburglar, a former Lockhart Award winner as well as an All-Star this season, keeps the Pils calm as they know they have a goalie back there that will rob a couple opponents every game.

A team in a similar situation as what Pils was in Season 3, TwC decided to take a season long hiatus as well.

This left offensive threats and brothers, JG (former Hart winner) and Huge Beach as Free Agents heading into Season 4. The package that they were seemed as if it was a perfect fit for the Pils as they were looking for two quality forwards to fill out their lineup. The Pilsner People were quick to pick them up.

With the two forces of Twc and the Pilsner People colliding, they have put on a stellar performance up until this point of the season. Currently sitting at 13-6-0 with 2 games remaining in the regular season, they have secured the number 3 seed in the Red Line Conference and will face number 2 seed SkubHub in the first round of the Playoffs. Other than the 1-0 shutout against Skub earlier in the season, their 6-3 third period comeback against the defending champion, 716, was probably their most impressive feat.

Their high energy, determination and dedication to each other seems like a recipe that can take them far into the Playoffs and hopefully grant them their first ever ITHL Cup.

As this unique group heads into Playoffs for potentially the last time together (as TwC looks to return next season), I’m sure many people will be on the Pils Bandwagon.
